Job Summary:

Responsible for providing production leadership, planning, scheduling, quality control, and training for Civil Engineering and Drafting work in the Site Development Services Department. Supervises personnel, manages specific projects, maintains client relationships, and produces engineering designs.

Essential Functions (Key Responsibilities):

  1. Production Management – Assign project work to Production Staff, communicate priorities and deadlines for projects and work assignments, and track progress to ensure that deadlines are met; Develop and maintain effective processes for monitoring and planning production
  2. Front-Line Supervision – Supervise the work of production personnel to ensure adherence to quality standards and proper procedures; provide personnel with support and guidance in addressing complex technical and customer service problems
  3. Customer Relations – Facilitate project-relevant client communications to production personnel and ensure that client requests and questions are responded to in a timely, professional manner consistent with company standards
  4. Project Management – Plan and oversee the completion of civil engineering projects for various clients, ensuring that all projects are completed within established timelines and budgets; report regularly on project performance to appropriate parties
  5. Engineering Design – Produce complex civil engineering designs in accordance with client expectations and the design and permitting criteria of multiple states
  6. HR Development – Meet regularly with each staff members to discuss performance, identify developmental needs and foster employee engagement, ensure that the Production Staff are receiving proper training, and provide guidance and manage associated personnel actions, including hiring and compensation recommendations
  7. Organizational Support – Provide support and assistance to company employees seeking information about SDS-Civil services and processes and promote internal and external customer service, communication, and education across the company departments
  8. Perform related responsibilities as required or assigned

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge/Skill/Ability

  • Technical Knowledge – Proven knowledge of the Wireless Telecommunications Industry and Civil Engineering
  • Leadership – Ability to confidently take charge in challenging situations and to offer opinions, direction, and developmental guidance to subordinates
  • Communication Skills – Proven oral and written communication skills, with the ability to prepare and deliver concise, understandable communications to coworkers and clients
  • Computer Skills – Proficiency in the use of personal computers, including engineering, spreadsheet, word processing, and presentation software
  • Problem Solving – Strong analytical and conceptual skills, especially in analyzing and solving complicated logistical problems
  • Tactical Ability – Exceptionally skilled at leveraging resources to achieve goals

 

Equivalent Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
  • PE Licensure
  • 6 Years of progressively responsible Civil Engineering experience
  • 2 Years of experience in a managerial or supervisory role
  • Prefer related experience in the Wireless Telecommunications Industry
